The reason for this blog is to track the progress of our acre garden with photos and commentary.

Our next door neighbors have a field behind their home that is about an acre in size. Other than running a cow or two on the land, it has been mostly fallow for the last 10 years or so. Earlier this year I mentioned that we should put in a large garden and they took me up on the offer.

After it was plowed I divided the ground into four sections. Each section is 75' long and 66' wide. All of the rows run east to west and are 75' long. I am watering most of the garden with a drip irrigation system. I will include photos of the drip system.

I try to take photos every Sunday. Sunday is about the only day that we do not work in the garden or water so it is the best time to get photos to compare and track the progress.
