New Potatoes

Today was one of those days that you look forward to for a whole year, we had new potatoes for Sunday dinner. These came out of the house garden and are about a week ahead of the mega garden. Red Pontiacs, the size that the skin will peel off as you wash them with the garden hose just trying to get the dirt off.

Joshua had caught two small brown trout earlier in the week. The scouts went up Chicken Creek canyon on Tuesday and he brought them home, not very big, but enough meat to give everyone a taste.

In addition to the new potatoes smothered in butter, and the fish, we had some broccoli, asparagus, and snow peas (also smothered in butter and just a touch of garlic), all fresh out of the garden. It does not get any better than this.
