I installed a soaker hose drip system on the La Soda potatoes this week. I weaved the hose in and out of the potato plants trying to keep it up on top of the hill. I need to install soaker hose in the other potatoes and then everything will be under a drip system except the first two plantings of corn. I will not bother with the first two plantings of corn due to how close they are to harvest, but next year everything will be under drip from the moment it is planted. The drip system is working quite well, better than I had hoped.

The pumpkins and winter squash are taking over the garden. The Atlantic Giant pumpkins did not do well with only one hill that made it. You can see it in the low right of this photo. We will not get any of the jumbo pumpkins this year.

The cucumbers have made a strong comeback. I had given up on them, but they now have blossoms.
The grasshoppers are making a big dent in the beans and will eventually eat them down to the ground, but we will have harvested more than we can use and have given away tons more before that happens. The peas are on their last leg. Everyone is burned out on peas anyway and we will start feeding the vines to the goats this week.
