I realize that it is 2010, but we are still harvesting from our 2009 garden. We have had a snow covering since mid November. I down loaded some pictures of how the garden looks in the dead of winter.

I also harvested some carrots today. I had to shovel the snow down to the blue tarps. The ground was not frozen under the straw, and the carrots looked great. We had some for dinner today, and they are sweet and the beat tasting carrots I have ever eaten.
